Process

Using NLP techniques (natural language processing), judict analyses vast amounts of legal documents so you don’t have to do it. We are simplifying the complex and often time-consuming EU law research. By centralising and connecting the dots. And by integrating the information into an easy-to-use platform.

Through automated processes, we can guarantee daily updates of all content. Our last update was completed on 31/05/2023

The CRR Tool is our first step on our mission to make EU law research more efficient.

How we collect the data and stay up to date

Our legal texts are retrieved directly from the website of the EU Publications Office (EUR-Lex). We check our legal texts every day to ensure they are up to date. Whenever legal acts are amended, available consolidated versions are thus provided.

The related documents are sourced from the websites of the official european and national bodies through automated processes. On a daily basis, judict screens all relevant database entries, web pages and documents they provide. Whenever we detect new or updated documents, we add them to our library. Our daily updates ensure that our library data is always complete.

When it comes to the CRR Tool, we analyse the websites of the EBA, BaFin and EUR-Lex. So far, we have screened:
  • more than 17.000 documents from the EBA Document library
  • more than 2.900 EBA Q&As
  • more than 5.000 BaFin web pages
  • more than 300 EUR-Lex web pages.

How we process the data

Once we have collected all web pages and documents, our algorithms decide on their relevance for our database. All web pages and documents classified as relevant are added to our library. This is done through automated processes based on NLP techniques (natural language processing). Subsequently, the documents are mapped to the legal acts and the specific articles they relate to. We do this with algorithm-based pre-sorting followed by manual quality control. With this two-step process we ensure the high standard of our library data.

When it comes to the CRR Tool, our algorithms detect:
  • all documents retrieved from the EBA Document library that relate to the CRR (EBA Opinions, EBA Guidelines, etc)
  • all Q&As retrieved from EBA's Q&A database that relate to the CRR
  • all web pages retrieved from BaFin's website that refer to the CRR (Verfügungen, Rundschreiben, etc)
  • all documents related to the CRR retrieved from EUR-Lex (Commission ITS/RTS, ECB Decisions, etc).
Mapped to the specific articles of the CRR, our CRR Tool thus provides a comprehensive overview of the available resources.
